The MOON represents our ‘inner world’, our hidden emotions, desires, our shadow-self, and our dreams.  It represents our feelings, our unconscious beliefs, the past and our yin or feminine goddess archetype.  

During a New Moon, the moon is roughly sitting between the Earth & the Sun, hence the Sun is shining on the ‘dark side of the moon’, the side of the moon we never see.  As a result, we cannot see the moon as the side that faces the Earth is not illuminated. 

The New Moon is a great time to set your intentions, write down your goals or begin new projects for the forthcoming cycle.  In the darkness of the New Moon you plant the seeds of your heartfelt desires, consciously focusing your Mind/Body/Spirit on the ‘feeling’ of your desires.

Both the Moon & Sun are in the same Zodiac sign during a New Moon, giving an exponential boost or concentration of the energy – which is Pisces energy today! Pisces is the visionary dreamer, the intuitive artist and the mystic healer. Piscean energy awakens compassion, imagination and creativity, dissolving the boundaries that separate us.

Just before the Spring Equinox Full Moon on March 21st, which will be a time of culimination and release as we transistion from winter into Spring, the New Moon in Pisces on March 6th gives us a powerful moment to tune into our intuition and visualize the fresh start we wish to manifest. Without the illumination of the Sun at the time of a New Moon, we are working entirely on our gut-feelings and can work powerful manifestation magic. The possibilities are endless… What new seeds do you wish to plant with the visionary Neptunian energy of Pisces?

I have a little New Moon reading for you with my own “Inner Compass Oracle” deck. You might want to create a little ceremony, like I did. For example, light a candle, hold a favorite crystal or other beloved special object in your hand, burn some incence and turn off your phone. Now close your eyes, breathe and center yourself. Then allow yourself to be guided intutively to the card that you feel most drawn to. It will have the message that will guide and help you during the coming month. If you are drawn to more than one card, or all three of them, that is fine, too. They might all be relevant to you at this time.
