Some personal notes on the power of sisterhood & co-creating with women
#BalanceforBetter is the motto for this year’s International Women’s Day.
“Balance is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue. The race is on for the gender-balanced boardroom, a gender-balanced government, gender-balanced media coverage, a gender-balance of employees, more gender-balance in wealth, gender-balanced sports coverage …Gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive.”
In my opinion, (gender) balance starts within ourselves. Just like there cannot be peace in the world, if we have a war raging within our hearts, how can we find or even expect balance around us? I find it essential to pause and invest in some much needed self-reflection and self-care today. How do I create balance, peace and love inside myself? By consciously setting an intention to create it everyday – without the pressure of perfectionism. By practicing it consistently – with compassion and patience. By remembering, and maybe re-evaluating, my values, my assumptions and my belief systems. Balance is about staying flexible and open to change and growth.
Finding that light within, standing up for our heart’s desire, developing unconditional love that enables us to speak our truth and walk our most authentic path. In my experience, I could not achieve balance and become the best version of myself without the support and inspiration I receive from other women!
I have always cherished my female friendships beyond measure as they represent my chosen family. Having grown up without strong or supportive women in my family, I have always looked out for female rolemodels and mentors to light the path. Out of this seeking came the desire to grow and share my own gifts and passions with other like-minded women . Life has been very generous in this regard, blessing me with big lessons and sending me godmothers, soulsisters, teachers, mentors and healers from all corners of the world along my journey of becoming my true self.
The call to nurture, heal, express and celebrate the Divine Feminine in myself and other women holds an important personal place in my heart. Facilitating creative workshops for women from all over the world has become the biggest joy and fulfillment for me.
I have always felt that the base on which the world stands is a woman and only by supporting and empowering each other with kindness, respect and compassion can we heal and empower not only ourselves but also our communities.
I feel very blessed to connect with an ever expanding female soul tribe to realize our creative projects. There is something very powerful in growing, sharing and learning together without ego-driven competion, comparing or envy.
Let’s not forget: as women, we are powerful beyond measure . We are sisters. We are creators. We are healers. We are Goddess Warriors. We are stronger together! Om Shanti
