The Wellbeing Journal

Book Recommendation - 'The Wellbeing Journal'

May is #mentalhealthawarenessmonth and this subject is very close to my heart. With my background in art therapy and reflecting on my own personal mental health journey I value the transformative healing power of creativity more than ever. I don’t know where I would be without the countless times when I was able to express and transform my emotions on paper in different ways. I will never stop, as a matter of fact because I value my emotional and mental well-being which have a direct impact on my physical health, too!

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life. Mental health is not one static perfect state of equilibrium to hunt at all times.

Many factors contribute daily to where we find ourselves on the scale. It’s always fluctuating and evolving. Conscious awareness is the key so we know when it’s time to take a break, listen, go within, take care of ourselves and ask for help if we need to.

There are simple ways of taking care of your mental health every day with creative mindful activities such as the ones I found in this book I came across by chance (no such thing)!
I am not paid to promote this book. I just honestly love it and want to share it with you.

The exercises are simple yet effective and there are lots of coloring pages. I find color to be very healing and sometimes a little relaxing doodling with crayons is all you need. 🖍🌻

Take a break this weekend and check in with your mental health– it’s an act of self-love and taking responsibility for your life.
